Examples of the mask(s) and RPE you use at work. HCS Safety will provide some sample RPE, however, for reasons of hygiene we encourage you to bring your own masks to use during practical elements of the training.
Please note:
The course fee does not include a face fit test kit to take away, or masks. You will need to purchase your own kit for use following the course; please ask at booking for more information.
Who is the course designed for?
Our Train the Tester course is designed for companies who wish to conduct Face Fit Testing on their own employees and need to know how to do this correctly.
What does this course cover?
The Train the Tester course will cover:
- Common hazardous chemicals and how they affect the body
- Legislation and Guidance Practical session:
- Set-up of Equipment
- Fitting of masks
- The Sensitivity Test
- Practical face fit testing
We will train you to conduct a qualitative face fit test using a 3M FT30 testing kit. We will supply a variety of sample masks for you to use during the session but bring your own with you for reasons of hygiene.
Assessing and Certification
Delegates must pass a practical assessment on their ability to conduct an effective test.

From M25- exit at J12 (M3), follow M3 South until is splits into M27 East/ West and follow the M27 Westbound until Junction 3. Turn left at the roundabout and join the M271. At the end of the road, take the 1st exit on the roundabout to join the A33 Millbrook Road West. Move into the middle lane and continue over Redbridge Flyover. Once over, move into the inside lane. You will continue through a set of crossroads with traffic lights. After approx. 300 yards you will see a slip road for the Solent Business Centre, directly after the TA. Turn into this road, and carry along, past Sparshatts until you reach a blue building. The car park is through gates on your left at the side of the blue building.
